Presented for your consideration is this gorgeous SUPER RARE Cardboard concert poster. The 1965 Dick Clarks Winter Caravan featured a folk-rock band from California, the Byrds along with their label-mates Paul Revere and the Raiders. Very little positive has ever been mentioned about the Byrds tenure on the Caravan, with the possible exception of David Crosby contently playing John Coltrane on his tape player and influencing Roger McGuinn’s lead guitar on the still-unfinished Eight Miles High. This brought to an end of the most prolific year for the Caravans. Next year, Clark began promoting his new TV show with a road show starring many its performers. This poster was made for the stop on 11/7/65 at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, TN. Talent: Paul Revere & Raiders, Byrds, We Five, Bo Diddley, The Dutchess, Dale Wright and the Wright Guys, Men of Action, The Results. Bo Diddley personally hand signed this poster for me in 2007 when I hosted him at BB Kings. Please see the photos of Bo with this poster. We were longtime friends. Featured on page 62 of the Art of Rock as plate number 1.108. One of a kind. Measuring 22 x 28 this ORIGINAL 56 old concert poster is in Very Good condition. The main issue with this rare poster is its cardboard and decades ago it seems someone tried to roll it so there are a few rolling creases as seen on the back. Not mint but very nice. Heres an original (guaranteed printed before the concert) cardboard boxing style concert poster advertising. THE DAVE CLARK FIVE. Appearing December 18, 1964 at the Masonic Auditorium in Detroit, Michigan. The poster measures 14 x 22 inches and is in VG+ condition. It has a horizontal crease (running through the “Five” and visible in my photo), some water staining in the lower right corner and a small stain and edge ding on the right border below the photo of Mike Smith. There is also a half moon minor crease in the top center of the poster through the “e” in “person” and the top half of Dave Clark’s photo. This is a very rare and stunningly beautiful poster from one of the truly great bands that ushered in the British Invasion! It would look spectacular displayed or framed.
