1969 Isle of Wight Festival Bob Dylan Who Original Fillmore-Era Concert Poster
Only two weeks after Woodstock, and with 150,000 in attendance, the 1969 Isle of Wight Festival featured two massive headliners The Who and Bob Dylan. The shows were legendary, mostly due to it being Dylans first concert in nearly three years following his 1966 motorcycle accident. Unlike Dylan, The Who had just played Woodstock and rocked the crowd with their rock opera, Tommy. Although Dylan and his backing band (who would later become The Band) fell short of the audiences expectations, three songs would be included on Dylans 1970 album, Self Portrait. This original neon pink poster, measuring 16 x 30, is on thin-medium paper stock. Its difficult to capture the bright day-glo colors of this poster with our camera, but believe us, it is shockingly bright! Llectors seeking truly vintage posters there is no other source that can match the breadth and authenticity of the collection at Wolfgang’s Vault. To see our other auctions!
