JACQUES LOUSSIER TRIO rare vintage original Hannover 1965 jazz concert poster
Formed in 1959 by Loussier, Garros and Michelot (who had previously played with Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France), the Jacques Loussier Trio used the compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach as a base for jazz improvisation and made many live appearances, tours, and concerts, as well as a number of recordings. The trio began with Decca Records but changed to Philips/Phonogram in 1973. Their best known recording is “Air on the G String”, which was used to advertise the Hamlet brand of cigar in the UK for over 30 years. Printed by Plakatdruckerei Wurm, München, the poster measures 59.0 x 83.8 cm approx. 23.2″ by 33″ inches and is beautifully printed in green and black inks on thin, uncoated paper stock.
