TWO (2) ORIGINAL (PRECONCERT PRINTING) CHARLES LLOYD CONCERT POSTERS AND ARTIST’S PHOTO READY TRANSPARENT MYLAR STOCK HAND INKED ARTWORK BY CATHERINE E. WEINSTEIN “AN EVENING WITH CHARLES LLOYD” MAY 16, 1970 AT REED COLLEGE, PORTLAND , OR – First / Only Printing Concert Posters – 12 ” x 18 ” – Beautiful EXCELLENT CONDITION – Over 53 years old now.. Here is a collection of 3 items from the post-mortem archive of renowned Portland poster artist, the late Catherine E. Weinstein (AKA Thunderbitch and Hedda Goldspace). There are two original & ULTRA SCARCE concert posters, one printed on quality, textured orange stock and the other poster was printed on quality, textured, dusty rose thick paper stock, as well as the original of Catherine’s completed ORIGINAL ARTWORK on transparent mylar stock, which consists of a combination of hand drawn black ink designs and applied patterns and lettering. Mylar is more durable than paper and therefore a better archival material. Approximately 200 of the posters were printed to promote the 1970 concert and distribution was extremely limited. These items came directly from the artists archive, following her untimely demise in 2003, and were never hung or exposed to the elements. They are all in MINT / MINT- condition. The poster promotes a concert by the great jazz saxophonist Charles Lloyd at Reed College in Portland, OR in 1970. Cathy Weinstein was recently featured in Northwest female poster artist retrospective named THUNDERBITCH in her honor at The Tether Gallery in Seattle. Weinstein was a quirky, mercurial, larger than life character, who lived a tumultuous life. If you visit THUNDERBITCH dot com, you will be able to view most of the 2010 exhibit catalog, which includes Catherine’s extensive bio along with photos of her, etc. Note to international buyers. Please don’t ask. We must be notified of any problems within two weeks of receipt of merchandise. I take pride in providing accurate descriptions, speedy service and careful packaging, using recycled materials whenever possible.
