Offered here is a rare poster for the 1st Sky River Rock Festival and Lighter Than Air Fair, held at Betty Nelson’s Organic Strawberry Farm in Sultan, Washington from August 30 to September 2, 1968. The lineup for these shows was phenomenal. Listed on the poster are Allmen Joy, Buffy St. Marie, Congress of Wonders, Country Joe & The Fish, the Flamin’ Groovies, Freedom Highway, H. Lovecraft, Muddy Waters, Phoenix, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Salvation, Santana, Sons of Champlin, Dino Valenti, The Youngbloods, Anonymous Artists of America, and a host of lesser-known acts. Not listed but definitely in attendance was the Grateful Dead, who played a set that lasted nearly an hour and a half! Several posters were created for this event and all of them are rare.
