The Rolling Stones had just toured America at some rather large venues with folks like BB King, Chuck Berry, Ike & Tina Turner and Terry Reid opening. Then they came back to London about a week later. This is the really rare one, the one with the UK dates. This poster has seen over five decades of life but it’s flawless, been kept in the same frame since. 14 x 21 5/8 inches. Has 4 small holes in corners when it was up.

BLACK SABBATH RARE CONCERT POSTER LONDON ENGLAND 1971 Artist Proof #15/36

This is a Black Sabbath commemorative concert poster from their epic show at Albert Hall in London, England, on April 26, 1971. Measurements are 18″ x 24″. This poster is number 15 out of 36 and is one of the artist proofs. Standard show edition with the purple lettering for Black Sabbath. On April 26, 1971, Black Sabbath celebrated an unexpected victory with a historic concert. The 1970 ban on their appearances at London’s Royal Albert Hall was suddenly lifted a year later after the success of Paranoid. To mark the occasion, the band broke their two-month silence in Britain with a concert for their faithful fans. The artwork by Massiveface is his interpretation of Black Sabbath’s classic “Iron Man” from Paranoid. The meaning “Iron Man” is not about a superhero – it’s a self-fulfilment prophecy. It’s about a man who goes into the future and witnesses the apocalypse. Going back to his own time, he encounters a rogue magnetic field, which turns him into a mute, steel creature. Unable to talk, he still tries to warn people about the impending end of the world, but is only mocked for his troubles. Angry and bitter, he eventually causes the devastation he’d warned everyone about. Ultimately the would-be hero becomes the villain. ” “The piece is based on my interpretation of Iron Man, the idea of a tortured, other worldly being sent to help humans but mocked and ridiculed when he turned to iron. I wanted to give him an ancient godlike appearance. I thought this paired well with the Colosseum like architecture of the Royal Albert Hall as a reference to Black Sabbath’s 1971 London gig. Photos are of the actual poster you will receive. This poster did not make it across the Atlantic Ocean without picking up a couple bumps on the left side, as pictured. 1960’s Vintage PSYCHEDELIC GRAFFITI ART London Rock Concert BEA TRIDENT Poster. Original 1960’s BRITISH EUROPEAN AIRWAYS travel poster advertising their Hawker Siddeley HS 121 TRIDENT airliner. To me, the neatest thing about this poster is that the backside has a hand-painted graffiti advertisement for an underground London rock concert. As best I can decipher, some of the concert ad reads: UP YOURS / Juanita The Garage / TOGETHER LIKE YO / The Others / CRAP! KANGAROOOOOOOOO / I Mean The Fire Exit One / MADE IN THE UNITED SHTS OF AMERICA / The Biggest M. Fuer of Them All / Easy Rider / c. EL CONDE and much more. The Trident airliner was introduced in the mid-1960’s, and the BEA side of the poster is dated January 1969, so I assume the concert advertisement dates to that same period. HUGE poster measures 25″ x 39.75″ and has not been trimmed, altered, lined, or repaired. This poster was used for advertising, so does show quite a bit of wear and tear.
