Grateful Dead – QSM – Avalon FD-45-1 – First Print Mouse Concert Poster – GREAT. This beautiful Grateful Dead poster was designed by Mouse and Kelley for a January 1967 show at the Avalon Ballroom. The interesting use of fluorescent orange with a Mucha-like central image captivates the viewer. The original print run for these Family Dog posters must have been small, because they rarely show up. The original poster was printed on white index stock and measures approximately 14? X 20? . The gold color on the original is a true gold-brown color. Print Type: Show Edition (SE). Designers: Stanley Mouse, Alton Kelley. Size: 14.031″ x 20 3/64″ (35.64 x 50.92 cm). Series: Family Dog (FD). Band: Quicksilver Messenger Service (QMS). One pin hole top center edge, and bottom center edge, plus top left corner. 1/2 tear at top, vertical. Can be hidden with framing. 2 – 1/4 tears on the right side. Some bends in the upper right corner. They are from the collection and due to the sheer volume of records to sell, they are individually un-tested as to playability. This listing comes from the Lone Star Dead Radio estate, of Eric Schwartz. It is something of his. I know that a lot of this memorabilia holds special sentimentality for fans of both the band, and of Eric. This estate sale Rare find is of a RARE 1966 GRATEFUL DEAD CONCERT POSTER FD-33-3 AVALON BALLROOM in Excellent Condition. Measures 14-3/16″X 20-1/4″. All posters that I’m listing came from an individual that lived in San Francisco in the 1960’s thru the 1970, s. There are no tac holes and never had ben hung. There is very small amounts of yellowing if any. There is ghosting of the front image through the thick paper on the back of the poster. And the Ben Grandy stamp on the back. It would be a great addition to a collection… I believe its gradable. Silver coins s not included. Please view the photos. Signature conformation is a form of security and better handeling not an inconvenience.

Concert Poster 14x 20 Vanilla Fudge Avalon Ballroom 1967 Charles Loyd Family Dog. This 1st printing poster displays the ticket outlets strip in black. It was printed before the concert and measures 14″ x 20″. Born in Detroit, Stanley Miller became known as “Mouse” after illustrating countless notebooks with his signature rodent sketch. Miller found an outlet for his creativity in pin-striping cars and airbrushing hot rod designs on posters and T-shirts. Mouse migrated to San Francisco in 1964, where he first met the artists associated with Family Dog, the organization producing dance concerts at the Avalon Ballroom. With collaborator Alton Kelley, Mouse experimented broadly with composition, lettering and imagery: Kelley came up with the ideas and Mouse executed the designs. Mouse and Kelley helped to establish the psychedelic style of expression under the name Mouse Studios. Time Honored Vintage Terms of Service.
